The Nanotechnology based concrete additive set to disrupt the construction industry
EcoAdmix HDT (Highly Durable Technology) nano molecular technology was developed for concrete production as an all in one concrete additive boasting not only huge energy saving and CO2 reduction credentials but a host of additional ‘super properties’ previously unobtainable via standard industry concrete and cement single purpose additives. Properties including enhanced early strength and hardening, improved resistive performance to water, frost, chlorides, sulphates and acids.
The technical properties and capabilities of such new green concretes is a consequence of the fundamental transformation and modification of their structure in comparison with the traditional concretes and single property additives (Superplasticizers) of previous generations.
HDT in contrary to all these single function superplasticizers and works differently. Developed as a multifunctional and multitask additive based on highly dispersed natural minerals. HDT acts as a template / matrix for the creation of nanoparticles allowing simultaneous influence not only on the kinetics of cement hydration, but it also hugely contributing to the concrete fabric structuring in this process.
The HDT concrete additive is non hydro-scopic powder of specially selected and highly dispersed natural minerals with additional modifications. It was designed to improve the reactive performance of all types of cement and cement replacements (including GGBS and PFA) in all types of concrete and to permit more dense and economical concretes to be designed. It is similar to the Roman secret concrete technology which has been researched lately.

Rapid early strength - 49 - 52 Mpa if used with CEM 1 Portland cement
Water resistance - reduced costs since the concrete itself behaves like a membrane
Improved hydration of concrete - allowing for faster setting time
Lower water requirements in concrete - 28 to 30% reduction
Lower concrete shrinkage - due to lower water demand
Reduction in permeability and voids
Reduction in expansion and heat hydration
Reduction in cracks and micro cracking
Increased flexural and compressive strength - even with reduced cement usage
Increased uniformity - of cement quality
Reduction in alkali - aggregate reaction
Increased resistance - to Chloride, Sulphate and Acid attacks
Reduced freeze-thaw damage - outperforming other products by more than 50% due to improved concrete density
Reduced capillary penetration to a minimum - tested with CEM III/B 32.5 CEMENT
Resistance to seawater - HDT can neutralise salt and salt based products allowing the reduction of ordinary water usage to a minimum by utilising sea water and sea sand for concrete production.
Reduced steel reinforcements - approx 10% less steel reinforcement required
Improved grinding process - therefore reduced production costs, improved cement quality, mill efficiency (i.e. reduced grinding time and energy requirements)
